Police Arrest Suspects in Violent Attack On 9-Year-Old Girl And Her Family

Brampton, ON (RushPRnews) 01/29/2009–Suspicious circumstances have led to the arrest of two Brampton men, aged 45 and 42, after a violent attack on a nine-year-old girl and her family, reported the Peel Regional Police.

Police received a call shortly after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, reporting that a nine-year-old girl and her family had been attacked by intruders at a home in Brampton’s Millsvale area. The children were critically injured.

Police identified the suspect in the attack as James Phillips, a resident of the area. Phillips, aged 46, was arrested in the area of Woodbine and Hoggs Road at around 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect in the incident was identified as Maurice James Davis, aged 42, of Brampton. Davis also lived in the Millsvale area. Police arrested him at 4:00 p.m. Thursday.

The three suspects and their respective charges are:

James Phillips – attempted murder, aggravated assault, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm

Maurice Davis – two counts of attempted murder

Yohin Ye and Abedieha Munir – aggravated assault, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon
